Chinese smartphone brands have started flooding the local market, offering affordably-priced smartphones with decent innards. The latest brand to enter the Malaysian market officially is ZOPO. Mind you, ZOPO smartphones have actually been lurking around in the market form some time, but ZOPO is going loud this time with their official launch.

ZOPO, not content with small launches, decides to expand their brand presence by appointing multiple brand ambassadors – five in total. All five ambassadors are presented with ZOPO's latest flagship, the ZP998.

The current flagship of Zopo is the ZP998, a smartphone powered by Mediatek's MT6592 octa-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. The front shows off a 5.5in display with 1920 x 1080 pixels of eye candy in store. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded with microSD cards up to 64GB. As with most Mediatek devices, the ZP998 currently runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At the back, the ZP998 comes equipped with a 14MP camera. The device rocks dual-SIM connectivity, which is great for frequent travelers.

ZOPO's local expansion plan does not stop with this launch, with it intending to create a good standing amongst local consumers, instead of gunning for the top spot first. With 23 after sales service points currently, ZOPO plans to expand to most Malaysian cities within two years. In terms of devices, you can look forward to more ZOPO products, especially ones that boast 4G connectivity.
